This was the beginning of the next 24 hours before welcoming our sweet baby boy one month ago. Leading up to the actual delivery portion of pregnancy I had a different mentality than most. From the very get go I was bombarded with questions about a birth plan, my delivery process, and breastfeeding.
2017 was a whirlwind. If I’m being frank I’m not sure I remember 80% of it because well pregnancy brain was real and it’s all a blur. But I do want to share what I do remember and took away in hopes to ring in 2018 with open arms and a prepared heart for what’s to come.
Let’s be honest the nursery is more for the Momma to gaze at before, and during her life becoming a mom. Somewhere that feels like a safe haven for both Mom and babe, but if you’re having a boy, masculine enough where Dad feels like he can come and change a diaper... or ten.
You were born on December 12, 2017 weighing in at a whopping 6 lbs. 14 oz. and measuring 19 ¾” in height.
After being sent home two times, an excruciating 19 hours of contractions and 5 living it up on the epidural you were finally placed on my chest. [more of my labor story to come] They say you do not know a love until your child is placed into your arms and let me just say they are not wrong. It is the most overwhelming, incredible feeling in the world.
